Working together within a multidisciplinary group, we were asked to create an on board cruise line experience that would meet the high expectations of a millennial audience. We created ORA, an experience dependent on three nodes of technology. A wearable that would collect data and open doors for the user, a mobile app that allowed the user to do everything from order food to plan an extensive itinerary, and finally the haptic screens that replaced the conventional indoor surfaces of the ship.
The haptic screens would respond to the vast pool of data collected by each member of the cruise and change the entire visual identity of the ship in order to reflect the unique personalities on board. This met the needs of our users by creating moment to moment unique instagrammable moments while also creating an entirely unique experience that could not be found anywhere else.
