The goal of this project was to design a space in the Energy and Innovation gallery at TELUS Spark that is more welcoming for adults. The team wanted to bring in a nostalgic feeling for adults, using the Windows pipe screensaver from the 1990's as their inspiration. In order to allow adults to take ownership of the space, the team included comfortable and movable furniture and reading material. The design also allowed for sightlines for parents to see their children playing in the gallery. Through user testing, prototyping and feedback sessions, “Pipe Dreams” was born.
