City of Calgary: Procedure, Process & Policy Documents

Designed by

Project Description

The goal for this project was to take existing process, procedure, and policy documents from the City of Calgary and re-purpose them into a more efficient, user-centric format where information can be quickly navigated and comprehended, allowing for abstract concepts to be communicated more effectively.

The strategy employed in creating this set of documents was to simplify existing information materials down to the essentials without losing critical information. Source material overloaded users with irrelevant content that did not aid in comprehension Using a hierarchy to organize and group information into blocks along with straightforward headings made the document more easily navigated and understood. I also constructed a well-structured flowchart to provide a visual aid to comprehending the property tax assessment process. All were designed in alignment with the City of Calgary’s updated branding.
