Project Description

Judging a Book By Its Cover is an interactive system design that organizes 30 book titles authored by current and past Mount Royal University employees into five distinct data visualizations based on the visual elements of each book cover. The interactive system is divided into the following categories: colour, visual noise, balance of visual elements, typography and geographical popularity, that can be navigated between using the indicator bar at the bottom of the interface. Each visualization has its own unique sort and filter functions that seamlessly changes the data points to display different information without altering the design. Users can also interact with data points to learn more about the book title.
